About the Cover
Cover: Flea beetle herbivory in canola from the striped flea beetle, Phyllotreta striolata (Fabricius), at right, and the crucifer flea beetle, Phyllotreta cruciferae (Goeze), not shown, is affected by time of seeding and seedling density. Photographs on the left were taken on the same day and site when flea beetle feeding was intense. Plants seeded in fall (top) were less vulnerable to damage than plants seeded in spring (middle and bottom), and spring plants seeded at a high density (middle) were less vulnerable than plants seeded at a low density (bottom). See "Managing Flea Beetles (Phyllotreta spp.) (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae) in Canola with Seeding Date, Plant Density, and Seed Treatment", by Dosdall and Stevenson, p. 1570-1578. Photos by L.M. Dosdall and M.J. Herbut.
