A two-row Cole planter was modified to seed experimental plots of peanuts. A spring-clutch is inserted in the drive shaft to disengage the seed plate assembly and the drive wheel. A hand-crank is attached to the drive shaft above the slip-clutch. When the crank is turned, the seed plate spins and expels the seed from the hopper. Thus, the seed hopper can be rapidly cleaned of remnant seed after each plot is planted.
