Forage Production of Red Clover and Alfalfa Under Differential Cutting1

Synopsis: Red clover produced yields equal to alfalfa only when harvested under the conservative 2-cutting schedule. Alfalfa yields were highest with 3 harvests at early bloom. Autumnal yields were small, and early October cutting reduced subsequent yields and stands.
