Synopsis: Urea and (NH4)2S04, applied in late November or mid-December produced orchardgrass forage yields comparable to those from a March application. However, N recovery was highest from the spring application. Nitrate from NH4N03 apparently leached over winter, making this N source inferior for late fall fertilization, Ureaformaldehyde showed promise only on a long term basis.
