Synopsis: The storage organs of alfalfa, orchardgrass, bromegrass, and timothy showed a significant response to N and K fertilization. In alfalfa-grass mixtures K increased regrowth of alfalfa and decreased that of the grass associate while N increased regrowth of the grass species and reduced regrowth of the alfalfa associate. Regrowth potential was rated as follows: alfalfa>orchard>timothy>brome.
