Synopsis: After 27 inches of rainfall during 20 weeks on a sandy clay loam, essentially all the applied N remained in the top 2 feet. The same was true for a loamy sand after 10 inches of rainfall during 17 weeks. Though rainfall was above normal, appreciable amounts of N were recovered at depths of 36 to 72 inches 76 weeks after application.
