Copper-Lime Interactions in Field Experiments with Wheat: Yield and Chemical Composition Data1

S. E. Younts and Robert P. Patterson2

Synopsis: Copper concentration in wheat plants was not increased by copper additions to the soil but was lowered when a high organic matter soil was limed above pH 5.1. Manganese concentration was increased by low rates of copper and decreased by high rates. Liming also lowered manganese concentration. Wheat yields were increased by both copper and lime but yield responses to copper were better in the absence than in the presence of lime treatment.
