Effects of Management Prectices on Forage Yield and Percent Protein in Blue Panicgrass, Panicum antidotale Retz.1

Neal Wright2

Synopsis: Blue panicgrass forage yield and percent protein were increased by nitrogen fertilizer. Highly significant positive correlation, coefficients between yield and percent protein were found. Maturity stage and clipping height significantly influenced yield. Percent protein significantly decreased as blue panicgrass matured. The soilmoisture-stress treatments did not significantly influence yield or percent protein. Percent dry matter decreased as nitroRen level increased. Significant differences in dry matter percent were found among harvest dates and replications.
