Meristem Development of Winter Barley as Affected by Vernalization and Potassium Gibberellate1

Synopsis: Floral initiation and acceleration of meristem development of barley were brought about by treatment with potassium gibberellate. The accelerating effect decreased, however, with increasing age of plant, resulting in delay in heading, fewer heads produced, and induction of male sterility.
