Alfalfa Response to Irrigation Frequencies in the Presence of a Water Table1

Synopsis: Alfalfa produced nearly as much forage under arid conditions without irrigation as with 6 irrigations per year when the water table was 5 to 9 feet below the soil surface. However, appreciable salt accumulation occurred in the 5- to 7-foot soil depth.
