Genetics of Greenbug (Toxoptera Graminum Rond.) Resistance in Two Strains of Common Wheat1

Byrd C. Curtis, A. M. Schlehuber and E. A. Wood, Jr.2

Synopsis: The F1, F2, F3, and backcross hybrids of the greenbug-resistant varieties Dickinson Selection 28A and C.I. 9058 crossed with the susceptible varieties Ponca, Concho, and Crockett, and with each other, revealed that resistance is conditioned by a single recessive gene pair, common to both resistant strains. The gene symbol gbgb was assigned.
