Genetic Shift During 30 Generations of Natural Selection in Barley1

Synopsis: Genetic shift, involving 19 of 21 characters studied, occurred during the evolutionary improvement of these populations. Parents contributed unequally, and persistent strong selection for seed size reduced it. Character associations increased under each of the three selection regimes.
