Synopsis: Representative polynomial equations and contour lines describing yield response surfaces obtained in corn fertility studies are presented for Norfolk and Portsmouth soils. Methods of interpretation are discussed. Increases in yield were attributed to nitrogen at each of the 23 locations on the former and at 10 of the 17 on the latter soils. P or K increased yields at seven locations on the Portsmouth soils but at none on Norfolk soil.
