Variety x Environment Interactions in Cotton Variety Tests and Their Implications on Testing Methods1

Synopsis: A substantial variety x location x year second-order interaction was observed for lint yield. Variety x year and variety x location interactions, however, were small and nonsignificant. Thus it does not appear necessary to divide the North Carolina cotton area into subareas for testing purposes.
