Inheritance of Resistance to Helminthosporium Blight, Crown Rust Race 216, and Stem Rust Race 7A in Oats1

George W. Rivers2

Synopsis: The inheritance of resistance to oat crown rust race 216 was found to be monogenic with susceptibility dominant, and resistance to Helminthosporium blight was controlled by a single pair of recessive genes. Homozygous early generation progeny were obtained with combined resistance to Helminthosporium blight and crown rust race 216. Resistance to stem rust race 7A was found to be inherited as a simple dominant character.
