Sypnosis: Several different methods of evaluating the relative effects of soil type differences on crop yields obtained in a long time rotation-fertility experiment at the Agronomy Farm, Ames, Iowa, are presented. All methods of analysis used indicate that yield differences are associated with soil type differences. The relative productivity of the different soils was found to be dependent upon the crop and management system under consideration.
